Acrobatic bodies contort into impossible positions. A live band immerses you in a soundscape of gothic and metal. out of hands is a dance and music performance about the darker side of being young.

Trailer

We've seen many performances with young people, but never before such a dark and daring production as this ritual trip about a 'dark cult'.

****, De Standaard

In ancient myths, youth often symbolises purity, innocence, and hope. But behind that idealised image lies a very different world—one of unbalanced bodies, dark thoughts, and awakening sexuality. In out of handss, a group of young performers takes you on an intense journey into their underworld—straight to the raw pain of being a teenager.

Michiel Vandevelde is a choreographer, dancer, and writer. He is affiliated with the Antwerp arts centre De Singel as a curator. In recent years, he has created works such as Le Sacre du Printemps and The Goldberg Variations (in collaboration with Platform-K). By the age of 18, Michiel had already performed in five youth productions by fABULEUS and created four of his own. Paradise Now (1968-2018), which he made for fABULEUS in 2018, was hailed as one of the most exciting dance performances of that year.
