Are you active in the circus sector and do you have an interesting practice or research to share on safety?
We are looking for you!
The circus sector is developing full speed ahead. High time to focus on the conditions that are needed to do so in a sustainable and safe way. That’s why we organize the conference ‘Circus – a safe(r) space for danger’, 10- 12 April 2024 in Antwerp (Belgium). The aim is to bring together as many circus professionals as possible to tackle the topic of safety in circus. Whether you are more into innovative rigging techniques, have developed a new approach in preventing injuries or are (becoming) an expert in creating spaces where sexism and harassment don’t stand a chance: we invite you to share your views, approaches and learnings. We welcome you to share your take on safety with a poster.
Don’t worry, we help you to translate your story in a suitable form.
We are convinced that there is a lot of knowledge and skill that screams for a bigger forum. Because it is valuable for a lot of circus practitioners and professionals. A poster session allows participants to discover a lot of different practices and get the opportunity to engage directly with the speakers, exchange information and network.
So let’s get started!
Need some inspiration? Piktochart is an open online tool that can help you get inspired or help you compose your poster, https://piktochart.com/
Feel free to send us your poster for feedback and don’t worry about the transport: we’ll print it for you. In exchange, we expect you to be available on the 12th of April 2024 for a 90-minute time slot during the conference to present and discuss your poster with others.
We hope there will be, but then we will have to make a selection. We will choose the posters that are the most relevant within the context of the conference. If your poster proposal is selected the conference fee will be waived. If you are not affiliated to an organisation a contribution to costs related to travel/accommodation is provided up to 200 euro.
Send us your idea until 30 January. Questions? Don’t hesitate to contact us by email to info@circuscentrum.be, subject: poster.
